This is a 5 night stay in this beautiful region of Tuscany.
This Photography Holiday is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the wonderful Tuscan countryside and indulge in you favourite hobby of landscape photography.We will be based in a wonderful family run home in the historical centre of Gallicano set in the mountains of the Garfagnana - the undiscovered Natural Park in Northern Tuscanny. All rooms are ensuite giving privacy for all delegates. The region lies between two mountain ranges - on the one side, the Appennines with their luscious mountain sides and on the other side, the rugged Alpi Apuane. Numerous streams decend to the valley where you will find old villages constructed of stone and terracotta. The whole area is full of tradition and history together with remarkable natural beauty On arrival we will have a welcome meeting and discussion where we will go through the objectives of our stay and discuss what each are looking for. The intention to make sure you get the most from this holiday. We will then take a walk in the locality (along with cameras) to get a feel of the region. Dinner will be provided allowing an opportune time for informal discussions.
We will take to the valleys and mountains and a visit to Barga (famous as a mecca for artists),Borgo a Mozzane for the Ponte dell' Maddellane and Parco Dell'Orecchiella making the most of the photographic opportunites that are presented to us. Travelling will be limited to ensure we have maximum opportunity to use and develop our photographic skills under the watchful eye of your tutor. We will keep our options open depending on weather conditions. We will either travel to the coast for some beautiful coastal scenery or into the historic town of Lucca. On the final day, depending on departure time for delegates we will stay in the locality and review much of what we have accomplished during our stay. For those who want to rise early for sunrise shots we will provide the opportunity, equally we will do the same for sunset - both magical times for light and for capturing images with mood and atmoshphere.Throughout our stay we will endeavour to spend time looking at image management and manipulation, plus look at a whole range of issues including Depth of Field, Shooting modes, File formats and so on. At meals times there will also be time for informal discussion and a review of our days activities. Non-particpating partners are welcome at a reduced rate (subject to space).For those delegates prepared to share a room with another delegate there will be a reduction in the fee, otherwise, if required private rooms are available and will accommodate a minimum of two per room. Some family rooms are available. This itinerary is subject to change and weather conditions but acts a guide to our intended plans. Space is limited as the venue we are using has only 6 bedrooms, it is essential to book early to ensure a space.
