Plant and Garden Photography Workshops

This season we a running workshops in two fabulous and very different gardens - Mill Dene, Blockley set in the Cotswolds close to Moreton in Marsh, and The Courts Garden National Trust, at Holt, near Bradford-on-Avon,Wiltshire.

Mill Dene is the home of Wendy and Barry Dare and is the culmination of many years work. The garden is featured regularly in quality magazines and publications around the world. See www.milldenegarden.co.uk for more information on this wonderful location.

The Courts Garden National Trust. This garden has been described as one of Wiltshire's best kept secrets - it is a delightful English Country Garden set in over seven acres and includes attractive and peaceful water gardens, wonderful herbaceous borders, unusual topiary and garden ornaments - all you want as a photographer and garden admirer.

We have two workshops scheduled for 2009 - A more basic course for those grappling with the controls and settings on their digital cameras (or film cameras) and numbers will be limited to a maxumum of 10 delgates. Running alll day from 10.00am - 4.00pm, the fee includes access to the gardens, tea/coffee and a light lunch. £60.00 per delegate.

For the more competent photographer we are running an advanced course looking at much more detail with regard to camera settings and controls along with using depth of field, shutter and aperture priorites, file formats and image management. Composition and use of the light will be a feature too of this course. Delegates will be limited to a maximum of 6. Running all day from 10.00am - 4.00pm, the fee includes access to the gardens, tea/coffee and a light lunch. £95.00 per delegate.

At both gardens you will spend the day with your tutor looking at in varying degrees, composition, lighting, macro and close up photography, using the light, colours and textures as well as looking at camera controls and settings - how to use them to the best advantage to capture creative and imaginative images. Plus image management, post capture processing and print output.
